Ultraviolet Protection Ultraviolet light is an invisible part of sunlight. Because UV damages furnishings, it is sometimes called the invisible enemy. In time, it fades furniture, upholstery, wood floors, draperies, carpeting and artwork. Window coverings can be very effective in blocking UV rays. Sound Absorption Soft window coverings can absorb up to 70% of sound energy, which helps quiet your home environment.

First and foremost, regular dusting and vacuuming of window coverings (every six months) will help to keep them dust free. It will also help your window treatments last longer, look fresher and maintain a like-new appearance for most blinds, shades, drapes, sheers and top treatments. Vacuum window treatments with a brush attachment so you don't harm the fabric. Compressed air or hair dryers on the non-heat setting can be used to blow dust off window coverings.
