Custom Drapery & Curtains

Custom drapery is what we do best, and it is the heart of our workroom. The range of styles we build is broad— traditional, modern, and everything in between. During your consultation, we walk through fabrics, linings, headers, and hardware together, then build everything to your exact window measurements.

Pleat and header options include pinch pleats, goblet pleats, grommet tops, ripplefold, rod pocket, and tab top. Lining choices range from unlined sheers to blackout linings for bedrooms and media rooms. Fabrics include silks, linens, jacquards, embroideries, prints, and sheers, with hundreds of options to coordinate with your existing furniture and finishes.

Drapery panels can stand alone as the focal point of a room or layer over blinds, shades, or shutters for a fully finished look. Draw drapes or stationary panels are a timeless solution appropriate to any décor when installed with the right decorative hardware.

Designer & Trade Workroom Services

We work with interior designers, architects, and trade professionals across Kansas as a reliable workroom partner. If you have a client project that needs custom drapery, top treatments, bedding, or upholstery built to spec, we can quote, source, sew, and install or coordinate with your installer if you prefer.

Trade benefits include project-level pricing, dedicated communication on lead times, and the ability to visit the workroom during fabrication to inspect work in progress. Get in touch about ongoing partnerships or a single project quote.

Custom Top Treatments & Valances

Top treatments like swags, cornices, and fabric valances add a finished layer to any window. We build each one in our workroom to match the proportions and style of your space.

Cornices: Upholstered cornices in your fabric choice, for a clean, architectural finish above shutters, blinds, or drapery.

Valances: Tailored pleated valances, gathered valances, and box-pleated valances designed to coordinate with bedspreads, drapery, or stand-alone treatments.

Swags & Cascades: Classic or casual, depending on the room. Swags and cascades work especially well in formal living and dining rooms or above large picture windows.

Balloon Shades: Can function as a fixed valance or as a working shade with a pulley system, often paired with lace panels or stationary drapes.

Reupholstery & Custom Upholstery

Reupholstery gives existing furniture a second life—often at a lower cost than buying new, and almost always with better-built quality underneath. Our workroom handles dining chairs, headboards, benches, ottomans, cushions, and full sofas. Bring us the piece, choose your fabric from our samples, and we handle the rebuild on-site.

We also build new cushions and seating from the frame up when needed. For furniture with sentimental value or quality construction worth preserving, reupholstery is one of the best investments a homeowner can make.

Custom Bedding, Pillows & Soft Furnishings

A coordinated bedroom comes together when the bedding, drapery, and accent pieces are designed as a single project. Our workroom sews custom bedding ensembles in any size and configuration, with the same fabric and trim selection used across the rest of your home.

  • Bedspreads, Coverlets & Comforters: Built to your bed dimensions in your fabric, with custom edge details, piping, and trims.
  • Dust Ruffles & Bed Skirts: Tailored, gathered, or box-pleated styles to finish the base of the bed.
  • Pillow Shams & Throw Pillows: Standard, euro, boudoir, and custom-size pillows with welt, flange, or knife-edge finishes.
  • Bolsters, Cushions & Table Skirts: Round and rectangular bolsters, bench cushions, and dining-table skirts to match.
  • Shower Curtains: Full-length custom shower curtains in coordinating fabrics for primary and guest bathrooms.
HOW IT WORKS

How a Custom Project Comes Together

Consultation & Fabric Selection

We meet in your home or our showroom, look at the space, talk through what you are going for, and pull fabric samples. For drapery, bedding, and upholstery, fabric selection drives the rest of the project, so we take time here.

Measurement & Specification

Our team takes precise measurements, confirms hardware placement, and you receive a written estimate.

Fabric Order & Workroom Build

We order and install your Hunter Douglas window treatments. Custom drapery, valances, and soft furnishings are built on-site in our Wichita workroom.

Final Fitting & Installation

Our installer hangs drapery, mounts hardware, places bedding, and walks you through any motorized controls. We follow up after installation to confirm everything is sitting and operating the way it should.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can you match an color or existing fabric I already have in the room?

Usually, yes. Bring a swatch or image to your consultation and we can search for an exact or near-match. If we cannot find a match, our designers can recommend complementary fabrics that work with what you already own.

  • Do you reupholster antique or vintage furniture?

Yes, and it is some of our favorite work. Older furniture is often worth preserving. We assess the frame, repair what needs repair, and rebuild the upholstery with new padding and your fabric.

  • What is the lead time for a custom drapery project?

Most custom drapery projects take several weeks from consultation to installation, depending primarily on fabric availability and workload. We give you a clear timeline with your written estimate.

  • Do you work with interior designers on trade projects?

Yes. We partner with designers and architects across Kansas and the Midwest and offer trade pricing, project-level coordination, and workroom access during fabrication. Reach out about a single project or an ongoing partnership.

  • Can you coordinate drapery with Hunter Douglas blinds or shades in the same room?

Absolutely, layered window treatments are one of the most common projects we handle. Drapery layered over Hunter Douglas shades or blinds gives you both light control and a fully finished, designer-level look. We coordinate the order and installation so everything arrives and hangs together.

  • Do you have a fabric store?

Yes, fabrics are available to order at our showroom at 3135 W. Douglas in Wichita. We have fabric samples, drapery and treatment displays, and Hunter Douglas working models. Walk-ins are welcome during business hours, though scheduling ahead means a designer can sit with you and walk through options.
